Intermodal Storage free time and charges apply to equipment held at a BNSF facility from notification to outgate. Notification occurs when BNSF advises the notify party that the equipment is available. Storage charges begin accruing when free time expires. BNSF Intermodal facilities are tiered into two groups with specific free times and daily storage charges (seen below).

At BNSF, it's our goal to simplify all the details so you can focus on what's really important: your cargo.

Group 1 (24 hours free time; $150 per day for first 3 days of storage, and $200 per day thereafter)

All storage charges must be paid on equipment before it leaves BNSF property. Charges can be paid through BNSF Storage Web tool by either credit card or guarantee. Cash, cashiers or certified checks are not accepted at the gate. Any billing issues can be filed online through BNSF's Storage or Account Status Web tool. To access these tools, log into the Customer Portal.

Our website makes it easy for you to conduct all your business with BNSF seamlessly in one place. Register at bnsf.com, under the Customer Login area, click Register. To register for bnsf.com, you'll need the following information:

NOTE: Approval for website access can take 24-48 hours. A BNSF support representative will contact you to set up and train you on the tools and reports you need. A PIN Number will be issued at the time of registration.

Forgot your PIN

• If you have an existing PIN you've lost or forgotten, submit a PIN Request and we'll help you find it. You'll be asked to enter your e-mail address. Then our automated system will send your PIN to the e-mail address you entered.
• Also, if you have a bnsf.com username and password, you can login on the Customer Portal and check your profile for PIN information.
